Our Mission

Connecting Children with Families and Keeping Families Connected

Jesus Christ set forth the example of a good shepherd, one who watches over, cares for and guides those in need. It is the work of Good Shepherd Children & Family Services to keep the children in our care safe, to help them heal, to provide them the skills for self care and connect them with those who will provide support throughout their lives.

Anautica Print E-mail

Thirteen year old Anautica (DOB: 12/27/96) has been in and out of foster care since April 2002 along with her sister and two older brothers.  Their parents’ rights were finally terminated in September 2008.  She is legally free for adoption and after years of moving back and forth, she is looking for a stable and permanent home with parents who will love her unconditionally.

Anautica has dark eyes, and short, black hair that she prefers to wear in braids.  She is tall and slender and loves participating in dance class.  She also loves pets, Disney movies, and playing games on the computer.  Anautica can be reserved and quiet at times, but thrives on positive adult attention.  She is in the seventh grade and sometimes struggles with her work.  She shuts down when she is overwhelmed and finds it difficult to ask for help.  Anautica is healthy and participates in therapy.  She is a typical pre-teen with a lot of spunk and personality.

Anautica currently resides in a residential center after disrupting from her foster home due to self-harming behaviors. The team feels that the root of her issues stem from difficulty dealing with the finality of her parents’ rights being terminated and impending adoption.  She will need a patient parent who will understand her grief and help her to express her feelings in a healthy and positive manner.  Anautica would like an adoptive home that would allow her to have contact with her three siblings who are all in separate foster homes.
